Diablo 4 Guide: Summoning Necromancer Build

This guide will discuss a unique Summoning Necromancer build for Diablo 4. This build focuses on summoning and utilizing a mighty army of undead minions to deal damage and control the battlefield. While there are many popular builds for the Necromancer class, such as the Bone Spear build, this build offers a refreshing take on the class, emphasising summoning skeletal minions. We will cover the skill tree, Paragon points, aspects, and strategies to build and play this summoning Necromancer effectively.

Overview of the Build:

This Summoning Necromancer build disguises itself as a corpse explosion build. The core idea behind the build is to create and utilize corpses generated by your summons and abilities to fuel your essence, heal your skeletons, and deal damage. By strategically positioning yourself behind and around your skeletons, you can let them absorb the initial aggression from monsters while you freely cast corpse explosions or unleash devastating bone spears. The balance between using bone spears to maintain vulnerability on enemies and using corpse explosions to deal damage is crucial. Saving your essence for elite enemies and bosses is recommended to maximize the damage output and efficiency of the build.

Skill Tree and Abilities:

Decompose and Enhance Decompose: These basic skills provide essence generation and create a corpse at the base of the decomposed enemy. While they are not crucial in the late game, they can be helpful early on.

Bone Spear, Enhanced Bone Spear, and Supernatural Bone Spear: These skills will be your primary focus. Bone spear creates vulnerability on enemies, increasing the damage output of corpse explosion. Supernatural Bone Spear is particularly important as it makes enemies more vulnerable, enhancing the damage of bone spear and corpse explosion.

Corpse Explosion, Enhanced Corpse Explosion, and Played Corpse Explosion: The corpse explosion is your main damage-dealing ability. It benefits from enemies being slowed, stunned, or vulnerable. These skills increase the radius and damage of corpse explosion.

Skeletal Warrior Mastery: This passive skill enhances the damage and life of your skeletal warriors. It is essential for generating corpses.

Grim Harvest: This skill converts corpse explosion into your primary essence regeneration ability. Consuming a corpse generates six essences, ensuring a steady supply of your skills.

Other Passives: Various other passives can be helpful in this build, such as Hewed Flesh, Blood Mist, and Skeletal Mage Mastery. Pick the ones that suit your playstyle and adapt as needed.

Corpse Generation and Minion Management:

Pay attention to their health during encounters to keep your minions alive and maximize the effectiveness of this build. If you notice that your minions are dying or losing health quickly, transition to a more defensive strategy. Use Raise Skeleton to spawn Skeletal Priests, which can heal your minions. Keeping your minions alive is crucial, as this build relies more on personal positioning and minion survivability rather than health regeneration or defensive skills.

Golem and Corpse Tendrils:

Utilize the Golem Slam on elites to keep them in position and increase your control over the battlefield. Another option is using a Bone Golem with the taunt ability. Both choices have their benefits, so experiment and find what works best for you. Additionally, if you have the Corpse Tendrils skill from gear, you can use it to stun enemies and cast corpse explosions while they are incapacitated.

Currently, the game has four elemental magic types: fire, ice, void (or darkness), and life (or light). However, many players are hoping for more elemental options, such as lightning, air, water, and time magic. These could be introduced through new weapons dedicated to these elements or by revisiting how existing weapons work. One possibility is a magical staff that offers various elemental schools to choose from. Alternatively, the game could stick with the current elemental weapon affinity focus. Players may also want to see a magical pet class that follows them around, similar to the sorceress in Diablo. While the introduction of new elements of magic could require a bigger rework for expansion, it would create interesting possibilities for weapons. For example, a magic mace could be earth-based, an
